Cardiac Services across Manchester Foundation Trust are in the process of merging to a single harmonised service.
Manchester Heart Centre at Oxford Road has started the process of refurbishing its catheter labs, and once complete will have 3 new catheter labs. The Oxford Road Site has been selected as the spoke to supportthe Hub of Greater Manchester Cardiac services at Wythenshawe Hospital, Wythenshawe have recently expanded to 6 labs with the addition of a Hybrid Catheter lab and provide radiographer support to the cardiac transplant biopsy suite.
We are looking for an enthusiastic radiographer keen to expand their knowledge of Catheter Lab procedures. The role will be mainly based at the Oxford Road site, with some rotation to the Wythenshawe site when required. Full training, support and induction packages will be provided for this.
Involvement in our busy lucrative on call Primary PCI service is expected. This is locally agreed with enhanced pay and compensatory rest planned in.
As radiographers we sit very much within the multidisciplinary team within the catheter labs, working closely together with Medical, nursing, and physiologist colleagues, supporting each other whilst providing high quality care to our patients.
The Catheter Laboratory suite forms part of the North West Regional Cardiology service. It is one of the busiest in the country. We provide a busy 24/7 Primary Angioplasty Service covering the Greater Manchester geographical area.
We are a leading Centre and cover ACS, Primary PCI, Pacing and Heart Failure services. There are opportunities to expand your knowledge/expertise in the whole portfolio of procedures available at Wythenshawe site. These including angiography, angioplasty, CTO, TAVI, Mitraclip, PFO, complex pacing and a varied range of electrophysiology procedures.
As a Cardiac Specialist Centre applicants will be expected to take part in a busy on call system. Whilst the bulk of hours rostered are within the normal working week (mon- Fri 8-6) we provide cover for a 7 day service, with extended working days with a variety of shifts between the hours of 8am and 9pm available at Wythenshawe.
Communication and the ability to be a team player are essential in helping provide a safe effective service in what is a fast paced technical role.
